Shake off pride, ED-Chamisa told.

By Daniel Chigunwe
South African based political analysts and former Independence Candidate for Mazowe North Shingirayi Rungangah has called for leaders of political parties in the country to put people first by shaking off the garment of pride and unite together towards economic revival at a time Zimbabweans are facing the most grueling life experience
Shingirayi Rungangah
Recently the MDC Alliance leader set a five-point plan that included legitimacy and democracy as the core for dialogue whilst Zanu Pf Secretary for legal affairs, Paul Mangwana shot back saying Chamisa is just a mere citizen and the ruling party is not under pressure to negotiate with him further casting  salt on the prospects of healing the economy wounds.
In an interview with The Zimbabwe Matrix, Rungangah said both Nelson Chamisa and Emmerson Mnangangwa must find a common ground to unite as soon as possible to save the people of Zimbabwe who are reliving the horrors of 2008 and early warning signs of social unrest in the country
“It is high time we end with individual politics and hero worshipping actions that are meant to excite a few elites. Chamisa and ED must shake off their pride which is the major reason undermining dialogue which can translate to economic prosperity. Things are not well right now and there is no hope if these two keep on playing hide and seek.
“This call for dialogue has to focus on saving the nation first from the wiles of the economy which is irretrievable broken. If and only if MDC and Zanu Pf humble themselves before the electorate and join hands will we be able to pull through from these dark times,” he said
The game of thrones politics currently shaping the country has seen Zimbabwe burning like the epical kingdom of Troy though this time not for Helena.
The country is bracing for more hard times amid skyrocketing prices in the impending doom of the back to school which has seen many parents distraught and cast a gloomy future for the welfare of several young people of school going age.
Rungangah who ran for the Member of Parliament as an Independent Candidate for Mazowe North said he is willing to work with Campion Mugweni despite having lost to him.
“We are happy the constituency is improving, the current MP has so far done better though it seems people are deliberately ignoring the positives and choosing to focus on the minor negatives.
“However, we want him to introduce projects that we can sustain and achieve without haste. Projects that are viable both in infrastructure and personnel not populist policies meant to excite people but projects that will benefit all.
Rungangah also warned Mugweni and other MPs to be very mindful of their electorate saying people are the political traffic signs for every leader.
“The people are his mirror. They are his traffic signs which will show green when he has to move. Yellow to slow down and red to stop. Roads in our constituency are impassable and this is one area that if addressed will make the rest of the projects easier.
“He must also ensure that the women of Chiweshe and Hauro have water to spare them the burden of fetching it from the river,” said Rungangah.
Asked on his political career prospects, the vocal youth who was a former member of Zanu Pf said it is no longer time to be partisan but to support those in power for a better Zimbabwe.

Twins organization bemoans low publicity

 By Daniel Chigunwe
International Twins Friendly Action (ITFA) group has called for government and other stakeholders to recognize the numerous challenges that are faced by parents in marginalized areas who would have given birth to twins or triplets after a study revealed that several of them are struggling to provide basic needs for the children.
ITFA which was launched sometime back in 2004 is a pressure group founded by Mash Central based twin gospel musicians Kenlord and Kenford Manyowa who after having been raised by their peasant farmers parents and faced the challenges of simultaneously growing up together went on to advocate for the welfare of twins.
The organization hosted a big a national event on 30 October 2009 where twins from all walks of life thronged the Stodart Hall in Mbare.
“Indeed we are cognizant of the fact that life is not homogeneous and according to our research we proved that there is a uniformity in terms of challenges faced by parents with twins, triplets and quintriplets.
“The more the children the more the challenges encountered in clothing, education and taking general care of these children. Our research proved that many parents are of limited means therefore unable to educate their children leading to many school dropouts,” said Manyowa.
“In 2009 we had a memorable gathering when we flexed muscles as an organization by holding an event which was attended by more than 1000 pairs of twins this  was made successful by the leadership guidance of the now late Tendai Mabhunu,” added Manyowa.
However the organization has bemoaned lack of publicity saying it has stalled prospects of attracting interested stakeholders and funding to give the lifeblood needed for it to make a meaningful change.
“We are currently faced by a number of challenges which among them include the lack of understanding by a number of people on the real objectives of ITFA, where we coming from and what are is our cause.
“ It is our appeal that members of the media fraternity create a platform for us to meet the world and then we get known which will also assist us in getting funding from donors or even to make meaningful contribution to the nation as twins,”
Kenford and Kenlord Manyowa are gospel artists who are currently pursuing their vision whilst based in Mazowe Central in Mashonaland Central province where they confirm to have got overwhelming support.
“So far we are very grateful by the many positive gestures that we have received from the community of Mazowe Central from the Member of Parliament Cde Sydney Chidamba, local authorities, councilors and schools heads.
“We even got a letter of endorsement that we got from the council to assist us when we knock on doors of those whom we feel can make a change on ITFA, we are still struggling to get funding so that we register our Trust something that can be easily achieved if we get publicity,”.
