Clergyman comes to the rescue of hunger-stricken Guruve

By Daniel Chigunwe
The Liberty in Christ International Church has called for fellow clergyman to take it upon their shoulders to provide for the needy especially at a time when the country is suffering from the wiles of price hikes which has seen vulnerable communities failing to afford basic commodities.
Speaking recently on the sidelines of the donations that the church made at Ruyamuro Clinic, Guruve last week, the church founder Apostle Anafi Muchuchu said opharns and widows are the most vulnerable people in the community who need to be remembered especially during this period of economic hardships.
Muchuchu who is also a member of the Hospital and Prison Services last year gave wheelchairs, groceries and clothes to people living with HIV/AIDS as well as those living with disabilities.
“My name is Apostle Muchuchu, founder of the Liberty in Christ Church. This Friday we were at Ruyamuro Clinic where we took upon ourselves the burden of the gospel which teaches us not to just preach but also to do what the word says.
“It is a command of love which is one of the most helpful way of ministering to our communities restoring love in the church as well for the saints to even follow such acts with their parents back home in the rural.
“Unlike last time when we donated wheelchairs and groceries, this time we gave clothes including trousers, shirts, skirts and blouses though these are still minor efforts in helping people in needy, the churches should see to it that it has played a role in alleviating the economic hardships being faced by these social groups” said Muchuchu.
With the price hikes of basic commodities in the country several people are founding it difficult to buy things like clothes and property as they mainly earn enough from the hand to mouth whilst at the same time President Emmerson Mnangangwa has repeatedly made clarion calls for churches to play a role in economic rebuilding.
A Ruyamuro Clinic Health Work Simbisai Musarurwa also commended efforts by the church in remembering the vulnerable community, “We thank the church for showing such love, it is not the first time they have come here at Ruyamuro as they also came last year and assisted some of the disabled whom we have in the community with wheel chairs.
“Though this is also a call for other churches to remember the many people whom we have in the rural area who are in dire need of food and clothes,” she said.
Another beneficiary said she was thankful of the clothes coming during winter time, “ I want to thank the church for coming to us at such a time when there is a lot of cold winter which has seen us catching flus, we thank them for covering us,”.
Meanwhile, the church said it has begun preliminary stages on setting up two Early Child Development Centres (ECD) in Guruve.
“We are setting up two ECD centers at Chikokonya Business centre with the other one catering for the special needs of children living with disabilities which we have named the Hope Foundation.
“ Guruve is the centre of the province with over 80 schools and sadly no school for the disabled, I gave another one a wheelchair after realizing that he can speak but not walk and he has since come to the school, I will be securing them with free uniforms and education,”.
